Mexican experts detect Frida Kahlo fakes

Mexican art experts say that five paintings purportedly done by artist Frida Kahlo are apparently fakes. The paintings recently appeared in a private collection in western Mexico.

Although the judgment isn't definitive, but the size, brushwork and other characteristics of the paintings don't match up to genuine works.

Many faked Kahlo paintings have surfaced since her death, as prices of originals have soared.
